Fleur V.Y. Tjong

Dr. Fleur V.Y. Tjong, MD PhD is a cardiologist, clinical electrophysiologist-in-training, and Assistant Professor of Digital Cardiology & AI (DCAI) at Amsterdam UMC, where she leads the TJONG LAB within the Amsterdam Center for Computational Cardiology (ACCC). Her lab focuses on multimodal and generative AI for cardiac care, integrating ECG, imaging, device, and wearable data to improve early detection and risk prediction in arrhythmia and heart failure.

Her career started with pioneering work in leadless cardiac pacing, contributing to first-in-human and long-term trials that helped establish this new era in rhythm management. Building on this translational foundation, her current research program bridges electrophysiology, data science, and AI-driven cardiovascular innovation.

She serves on the Digital Cardiology & AI Committee of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), chairs the ESC Taskforce on the Digital Cardiology & AI Curriculum, and is an active member of the EHRA Digital & mHealth Committee, shaping European policy and education in Digital Cardiology and AI.

Dr. Tjong is the recipient of multiple personal research grants, including two Dutch Heart Foundation E. Dekker Awards, an NWO Rubicon Fellowship, and Health Holland and NWO AINed grants, totaling over €3 million as principal investigator.
